  • understand your project requirements;
  • arrange a demonstration;

Depending on the circumstances, the legal basis for processing may be:

  • taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract;

You may withdraw your consent or unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication or by contacting us.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Metrici follows the principle of data minimisation. For newsletter communications, the information required may be limited to your e-mail address and, where voluntarily provided, your name or other relevant information.

6.Technical Data and Server Logs

When you access our website, our servers and technical systems may automatically record certain information, including:

  • IP address;
  • date and time of access;
  • requested page;

  • security;
  • preventing abuse;
  • troubleshooting;
  • maintenance;
  • improving website performance;
  • investigating security incidents.

Where possible, technical data is retained for limited periods and deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required.

7.Cookies and Similar Technologies

www.metrici.ro may use cookies and similar technologies.

Cookies may be used for:

  • ensuring the proper operation of the website;
  • remembering certain preferences;
  • measuring website traffic and usage;
  • statistical analysis;
  • improving the user experience.

Metrici may use third-party analytics services to understand how the website is used.

Where consent is legally required, non-essential cookies will only be activated after the user has provided valid consent.

Strictly necessary cookies may be used without consent where permitted by applicable law.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through the cookie preference mechanism provided on the website.

For detailed information regarding the cookies used by www.metrici.ro, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

8.Analytics and Third-Party Services

To operate the website, analyse traffic, maintain security, communicate with users and provide certain functionality, Metrici may use third-party service providers.

These providers may include:

  • hosting and infrastructure providers;
  • IT service providers;
  • e-mail service providers;
  • analytics providers;
  • cybersecurity providers;
  • communications and marketing providers;
  • technical support providers;
  • payment service providers, where applicable.

Depending on the service, a third party may process personal data on behalf of Metrici or may act as an independent controller.

Where required, Metrici will enter into appropriate data processing agreements and require applicable security and data protection safeguards.

The actual providers used by Metrici may change as our technical infrastructure and services evolve.

9.Customer Data and Metrici Systems

This section is particularly important because Metrici products include technologies such as video analytics, automatic license plate recognition (LPR), object detection and recognition, people detection and other computer vision technologies.

Metrici is not automatically the controller of all data processed by its software.

Depending on the specific project, system architecture and contractual relationship, the Metrici customer may act as the data controller, while Metrici may act as a data processor or technical service provider.

Where Metrici acts as a data processor, it processes personal data in accordance with the customer's documented instructions and the applicable contractual arrangements.

The customer acting as controller is responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing and for fulfilling the controller obligations imposed by applicable data protection legislation.

10.Video Data and Recognition Data

Metrici systems may analyse video streams provided by IP cameras.

Depending on the product, configuration and customer requirements, the system may process information such as:

  • vehicle registration numbers;
  • vehicle type or category;
  • direction of movement;
  • date and time of an event;
  • camera or location identifier;
  • parking occupancy information;
  • detected codes or identifiers;
  • information generated through video analytics;
  • images associated with events, where configured to be stored.

Metrici follows a data minimisation approach.

Depending on the system architecture, operational data generated by Metrici solutions can be stored within the customer's own infrastructure, locally or in the customer's own cloud environment.

This architecture can allow customers to retain direct control over their operational data and infrastructure.

Video streams may be analysed in real time, while the system configuration determines whether images associated with events are stored or whether only analytical data is retained.

11.Image Protection and Privacy Features

For certain implementations, Metrici software may provide image masking or pixelation functionality.

Such functionality can be used to reduce the risk of visual identification of individuals or other information appearing in video images while retaining the analytical information required for the operation of the system.

Metrici documents image obfuscation capabilities for several analytics engines, including LPR, PPD and people detection.

The availability and configuration of these functions depend on the product, project requirements and customer configuration.

12.Where Data from Metrici Systems Is Stored

A key feature of Metrici's architecture is the possibility of deploying systems within the customer's own infrastructure.

Depending on the project, Metrici solutions may operate:

  • on local servers;
  • within the customer's private infrastructure;
  • within the customer's own cloud environment;
  • within other infrastructure agreed contractually.

This architecture allows customers to retain a high degree of control over operational data and infrastructure.

Metrici solutions can be deployed without requiring all operational data to be stored in Metrici's own cloud infrastructure.

13.Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on the circumstances, Metrici may process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

13.1. Performance of a Contract

Where processing is necessary to perform a contract or to take steps at the request of the data subject before entering into a contract.

13.2. Consent

Where processing requires or permits consent under applicable law.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

13.3. Legitimate Interests

Where processing is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by Metrici or a third party, provided that such interests are not overridden by the rights and freedoms of the data subject.

Legitimate interests may include:

  • system security;
  • fraud and abuse prevention;
  • customer relationship management;
  • infrastructure security;
  • product and service improvement;
  • communication with existing customers and business partners, within the limits of applicable law;
  • establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

13.4. Legal Obligation

Where processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which Metrici is subject.

14.We Do Not Sell Personal Data

Metrici does not sell users' personal data.

Personal data is used only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and for other compatible purposes permitted by applicable law.

We do not disclose personal data to third parties for the purpose of selling or independently commercialising such data.

15.When We May Disclose Personal Data

Personal data may be made available, where necessary, to:

  • IT service providers;
  • hosting and infrastructure providers;
  • e-mail service providers;
  • analytics providers;
  • cybersecurity providers;
  • technical support providers;
  • professional advisers;
  • auditors;
  • public authorities and competent institutions where legally required;
  • partners or subcontractors involved in providing services, where necessary.

Third-party providers will only receive access to the information necessary to perform their services and, where they process data on behalf of Metrici, will be contractually required to comply with applicable data protection requirements.

16.International Data Transfers

Certain third-party services used by Metrici may involve the processing of personal data outside the European Economic Area.

Where such transfers take place, Metrici will implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection law, which may include:

  • an adequacy decision of the European Commission;
  • Standard Contractual Clauses;
  • other legally recognised transfer mechanisms or safeguards.

Additional information regarding international data transfers may be requested by contacting us.

17.Data Retention

Metrici retains personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or for as long as required by applicable law.

The applicable retention period may depend on:

  • the nature of the data;
  • the purpose of processing;
  • the duration of the contractual relationship;
  • legal obligations;
  • the need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • audit requirements;
  • security requirements;
  • dispute resolution requirements.

Where a specific retention period cannot be determined in advance, we use appropriate criteria to determine the applicable retention period.

Once the applicable retention period expires, data is deleted, anonymised or archived as permitted or required by law.

18.Data Security

Metrici considers data security to be an essential part of its operations and technology development.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against risks associated with its processing.

Depending on the system and context, these measures may include:

  • access controls;
  • authentication mechanisms;
  • user and role management;
  • infrastructure protection;
  • logging;
  • monitoring;
  • backups;
  • software updates;
  • protection against unauthorised access;
  • role-based access;
  • physical and organisational security measures;
  • incident response procedures.

No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Nevertheless, Metrici takes reasonable and appropriate measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

19.Security Incidents

If Metrici becomes aware of a security incident involving personal data, we will assess the incident and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.

Where required, Metrici will notify the competent supervisory authority and/or affected individuals within the applicable legal deadlines and in accordance with the requirements of GDPR.

20.Your Rights

Subject to the conditions established by GDPR, you may have the following rights:

Right of Access

You may request confirmation as to whether we process your personal data and, where applicable, request access to such data.

Right to Rectification

You may request correction of inaccurate personal data or completion of incomplete data.

Right to Erasure

You may request deletion of your personal data where the legal conditions for exercising this right are met.

Right to Restriction of Processing

You may request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.

Where the requirements of GDPR are met, you may request to receive personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

In Romania, the supervisory authority is:

National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP)

B-dul General Gheorghe Magheru nr. 28-30, Sector 1
Bucharest, Romania
Website: www.dataprotection.ro

21.How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise your rights, please contact: office@metrici.ro

Your request should contain sufficient information to allow us to understand and process your request and, where necessary, verify your identity.

For security reasons, Metrici may request additional information to verify the identity of the person making a request where there are reasonable grounds for doing so.

We will respond to requests within the time period required by applicable data protection law.

22.Children and Special Categories of Personal Data

The Metrici website is not specifically directed at children.

We do not knowingly request personal data from children through our public website forms.

You should not provide special categories of personal data through our public website forms unless such information is specifically necessary for your request and there is an appropriate legal basis for processing it.

Special categories may include information concerning health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data used for uniquely identifying an individual, or information concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation.

23.Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

The www.metrici.ro website is not intended to make automated decisions producing legal effects or similarly significant effects on website visitors.

Metrici products may use artificial intelligence, computer vision and automated recognition algorithms for the operational purposes for which they are deployed.

The use of an automated recognition system does not, by itself, mean that Metrici makes legally significant automated decisions about individuals.

Where a specific implementation involves automated decision-making within the meaning of GDPR, the relevant data controller must assess and comply with the applicable legal requirements.

24.Links to Third-Party Websites

The Metrici website may contain links to websites operated by third parties.

Metrici does not control these websites and is not responsible for their privacy practices, security, content or processing of personal data.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of each third-party website you visit.

25.Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • changes in legislation;
  • changes to our website;
  • changes to our products or services;
  • changes to our service providers;
  • changes to our data processing activities;
  • improvements to our security and privacy practices.

The current version will always be published on this page and will include the date of the latest update.

Where a change is material and applicable law requires notification, we will take appropriate steps to inform affected individuals.

26.Our Privacy Principles

Metrici is guided by the following principles:

  • We collect only what is necessary.
  • We use data for clearly defined purposes.
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We protect data through appropriate technical and organisational measures.
  • Where the product architecture allows it, operational data can remain within the customer's own infrastructure.
  • We respect the rights of data subjects.
  • We seek to incorporate privacy considerations into the design and delivery of our products and services.

Privacy is not simply a legal requirement. For a company developing video analytics, computer vision and artificial intelligence technologies, responsible data processing is an essential part of how technology should be designed and deployed.
