The Kibbutz
Bnei Dror is a kibbutz in Israel where local authorities needed automated vehicle monitoring at controlled-access gates. Nearly 2,000 vehicles — including heavy-duty trucks — passed through the gates each day.
Authorities already had video surveillance, but manually monitoring all cameras and checking traffic status was neither cost-effective nor feasible with a small team.
Unique Challenges
The local kibbutz presented unique challenges for the Metrici LPR team and integrators:
- Arid climate — extreme daytime temperatures and desert-like conditions made it difficult to deploy and maintain security technology at peak performance
- Controlled access — communities are fenced with gates that close at night, restricting all vehicle entry and exit after hours
- Conflict-prone region with risk of military incidents
